I make this hidden green smoothie with blueberries and pomegranate whenever I am craving a healthy & fast breakfast, specially on the go.
Of course we all love smoothies, right? But most of the time smoothies are so over-loaded with sugar that in my opinion they are milkshakes in disguise or desserts to be consumed with a straw. I have been a on spinach kick lately. You guys know that. Spoke about it in my Palak Chicken post too. I had told you frozen spinach can be an excellent way of getting your greens in. So this hidden green smoothie is exactly the kind of recipe where frozen spinach would be perfect if you have them.

HOW TO MAKE THE PERFECT GREEN SMOOTHIE EVERY TIME:
Smoothies are the kind of dishes that don’t really get restricted by one recipe or another. It is about making a smoothie to fill your needs. If I am having it as a meal, specially breakfast, I need a couple of things to work through. I need a good amount of proteins and fibres to keep me full and happy.
There is nothing worse than the sugar slump you experience after wolfing down only carb heavy breakfasts. So I stay away from muffins and waffles. And I think so should you. Of course, my recipe today is all about making a hidden green smoothie with protein packed greek yoghurt and fibre rich berries and pomegranate. This is Manish’s favourite “green” smoothie. He never knows that it is in fact packed with leafy greens.
I have used a lot of spinach in my recipe. Naturally, any leafy green will do the job. You can go with the ever popular kale or even the understated romaine lettuce. I love spinach and it’s so cheap. Plus, it is readily available in Bangalore all round the year.
And now last but not the least I have created a handy info-graphic which would help you make the decision for the perfect smoothie every time. . If you choose an item or two from each category and blend them in, you will have a great green smoothie each time. I don’t add the sugar in my drinks, and sometimes you don’t need to add the so called superfoods, so I have kept them as optional add ins. Please check it and feel free to share; spread the love. You can download this infographic in the pdf form too
